A decorative mounting in the so called silver on gold
technique, set with many rose cut diamonds and
in the center a flat, square cut, piece of moss agate looking like a pretty landscape.

rose cut diamonds, and
one moss agate stone in the center. We don 't have the weight of this diamond, which is normal in our trade when it
comes to rose cuts. Moss agate (also called Mocha Stone) is grayish to milky-white agate and containing
opaque, dark-colored inclusions whose branching forms resemble ferns, moss, or
other vegetation, and in this case a landscape.
REMARKS : At the back of the brooch there is a hook from which one could hang a small
pocket watch or to attach the closure of a soutoire (long chain).
WEIGHT : 8.70 gram (5.59 dwt)
HALLMARKS : Woman's head with the number 72, for Moscow between 1896 and 1908 and 18K gold.

HISTORY ON MAKER : Fabergé, established in 1842 by Gustav Fabergé. Till 1877 the
company had only been producing jewelry but then started to produce big silver hollowware pieces. The products of
the Fabergé company distinguish themselves by the extraordinairy high craftman skills in the art of designing,
enameling, engraving and chiseling. Fabergé opened a branch in Moscow in 1887, Odessa in 1890, Kiev in 1905 and even
London in 1903. Fabergé was supplier to the Russian court. The "easter eggs" Fabergé made for
for the Tsar and his family are still today legendary and famous. These eggs were mostly made in precious
metal and precious stones, often hidding a gift also of high value.
