This remarkable Peruzzi cut diamond has been given on loan by Adin to DIVA since 2017 until the end of 2023. DIVA is Antwerp's amalgamated Silver Museum and Diamond Museum.
Although we feel very honoured to have our artefacts on display in this prestigious house of diamonds and jewellery, this also means that temporarily we haven't got this piece in our store supply.
If you're interested in this most precious gemstone, we would be obliged to make all the necessary arrangements. Just let us know well in advance when you will be dropping by and we'll do our best to have the jewel here at our premises.
There are no words to describe the miracle that has risen over centuries and centuries from this extraordinary diamond, which is called a Peruzzi diamond.
Even back in its period of origin between 1650 and 1680, this diamond was already one of the rarest gems in this world, because of its special Peruzzi cut while the majority of diamonds in that time were being cut as rose cuts. As a Peruzzi consists of
33 facets and truly comes alife with fire and luster, this cut is considered to be the ancestor of the modern brilliant cut diamond.
Even more remarkable regarding its substantial weight of 1.83ct. and its valuable colour and clarity, this Peruzzi diamond hasn't been altered through almost four centuries. Antique diamonds of this caliber normally don't make it to the 21st century as
they are being cut into a modern brilliant.
With our lifelong experience in unique jewellery and gemstones, we must almost believe that this exclusive Peruzzi diamond is of divine descent as it is obviously protected by a guardian angel.
We got the stone together with its old Dutch certificate made in 1978 but to be sure we have had a new certificate made by IGI (see pictures).

Peruzzi cut diamond - This particular shape of diamond is called the Peruzzi cut.
The first brilliant cuts were introduced in the middle of the 17th century. Known as Mazarins, they had 17 facets on the
crown (upper half). They are also called double-cut brilliants as they are seen as a step up from old single cuts.
Vincent Peruzzi, a Venetian polisher, later increased the number of crown facets from 17 to 33 (triple-cut or Peruzzi
brilliants), thereby significantly increasing the fire and brilliance of the cut gem, properties that in the Mazarin
were already incomparably better than
in the rose.Because the practice of bruting had not yet been developed, these early brilliants were all rounded squares
or rectangles in cross-section (rather than circular). Given the general name of cushion—what are known today as old
mine cuts—these
were common by the early 18th century. (From:Wikipedia)

Renaissance - The Renaissance (Italian: Rinascimento, from ri- "again" and nascere "be born") was a cultural movement that spanned roughly the 14th to the 17th century, beginning in Florence in the Late Middle Ages and later spreading to the rest of
Europe. The term is also used more loosely to refer to the historic era, but since the changes of the Renaissance were not uniform across Europe, this is a general use of the term. As a cultural movement, it encompassed a resurgence of learning based on
classical sources, the development of linear perspective in painting, and gradual but widespread educational reform. Traditionally, this intellectual transformation has resulted in the Renaissance being viewed as a bridge between the Middle Ages and the
Modern era. Although the Renaissance saw revolutions in many intellectual pursuits, as well as social and political upheaval, it is perhaps best known for its artistic developments and the contributions of such polymaths as Leonardo da Vinci and
Michelangelo, who inspired the term "Renaissance man".
