Art Deco diamond Princess necklace dangle pendant

A feminine Art Deco Princess necklace, dangle pendant, flowery design pendant, set with diamonds and 14kt gold, circa 1920's, in excellent condition … A touch of history.

STYLE : Art Deco
STYLE SPECIFICS : Deco and Edwardian characteristics - This piece carries the characteristics of two distinctive styles from the same era. Abstract motives and geometrical forms are quite typical for the Art Deco period while the fineness of line and lacey aspect of the piece are typical for the Edwardian period. Because both styles ran concurrently, we sometimes, like in this case, notice pieces that carry both influences.
PERIOD : 1920
MATERIAL : 14K bi-color gold (yellow and white), although most of this jewel is in yellow gold, the diamonds are set in white gold. This finds it origin in a much older period where it was common for diamonds to be set in silver (see explanation on silver on gold).
DIAMONDS : One old mine brilliant cut diamond with an estimated weight of approx. 0.85 crt. (color approx. G, clarity approx. si/i) and two single brilliant cut diamonds (also called 8/8) with a total estimated weight of approx. 0.03 crt.
TOTAL DIAMOND WEIGHT :approx. 0.88 crt.
BIRTHSTONES : Diamond is the birthstone (or month stone) for the month April (common attributions to diamond)
WEIGHT : 2.60 gram (1.67 dwt)
HALLMARKS : Dutch origin oak leaf (1906 - 1953) - We are certain about the origin of this jewel because of the control mark representing an oak leaf (that was in use in the Netherlands from 1906 till 1953).
CONDITION : Excellent condition - (our condition scale)
DIMENSIONS : Hight pendant approx. 2.32 cm (0.91 inch), length necklace approx. 45.00 cm (17.72 inch)
