A style of cutting a diamond (or other transparent gemstone) in a modification of the rose cut, so that the stone is elliptical and pointed at both ends, but having a flat base and no table. It is cut generally similar to the pendeloque rose cut, with usually 4 or 6 horizontal rows of triangular facets (7 in each of the 2 middle rows and 3 or 5 in the terminal rows), totalling 24 or 30 facets.
