Photographic jewelry

Articles of jewelry of which the principal decoration was a photograph, usually framed in a brooch or pendant made of gold or other metal. In the mid-19th century lockets enclosing a photograph of a deceased person were popular, but later they were worn with an enclosed photograph of the living.
