Vernon

Full name is Frédéric de Vernon was born in 1858 and went to the decorative arts school. Some of his admirable pendants are: ‘la Saint Cécile’ (Saint Cecile) made in 1896, ‘la Gailla’ (the Gailla) in 1897, ‘l’Amour’ (the Love) and ‘la Vièrge’ (the Virgin) in 1898), ‘le Jour’ (the Day), ‘la Nuit’ (the Night), ‘l’Aurore’ (Aurora) and ‘le Crépuscule’ (the Twilight) in 1899 and 1900.

The most famous of his works is the thimble that president Krüger of South Africa offered to Queen Wilhelmine of the Netherlands for her wedding. It represents a group of Parisian seamstresses.
